Powder Technology Inc. (PTI) is the leading manufacturer of ISO 12103-1 test dust grades as well as other test contaminants used for testing automotive, aerospace and military mechanical components. As an industry leader, PTI got involved with test dust in 1982 with the production of SAE Fine and Course Test Dusts. In 1997 PTI was instrumental in defining and publishing ISO Standards for test dust and contaminants which specify four precise grades of test dust. Since this time, the popularity of PTI produced test dusts grew due to product consistency, lower cost, and immediate availability.
